TINTON FALLS – As the first pitch nears for this summer’s inclusive baseball league at Ranney School, local nonprofit BaseABLE is celebrating a year of remarkable growth and momentum across state lines.

LINCROFT – Just 17 days earlier, Christian Brothers Academy was on the losing side when archrival Red Bank Catholic celebrated winning the Monmouth County baseball crown. This time around, the Colts came out on top – and got the higher-stakes trophy – dispatching the Caseys 11-1 in five innings to win the Non-Public A South championship.

Two area residents are determined to make baseball a mainstay in the Special Olympics.

Christian Brothers Academy had a good week on the diamond. A really good week.

Major League teams know New Jersey is a source of great talent, which is why it’s common for scouts to huddle behind the fence watching top players in the high school ranks.

RED BANK – In the summer of 2018, Middletown Little Leaguer Alfred Delia became a household name thanks to five seconds of video on the internet.

RED BANK – Red Bank Catholic and Rumson-Fair Haven both reached the state championship game in 2023 and the intensity carried over to the first game of the 2024 season.

A successful season on the diamond for local teams extended into the summer as 16 players from The Two River Times area were part of the Jersey Shore All-Stars team that won the Philadelphia Phillies Carpenter Cup. The Major League Baseball franchise puts on an annual event featuring 16 teams of high school all-stars from New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware.

When Matt Bruno recorded the strikeout to secure the Bulldogs’ second straight section championship, the celebration was much more subdued than a year earlier.

RBC has enjoyed tremendous success in the Shore Conference, winning four straight tournaments over the last five years. But when it came to the state playoffs, the Caseys have endured heartbreak in a variety of ways.
