RED BANK – Several downtown Red Bank business owners are calling on borough officials to shut down Broadwalk, the seasonal pedestrian plaza launched in 2020 as a COVID-19 relief measure, arguing at a council meeting and in a new petition that the popular attraction has become detrimental to businesses outside its perimeter.

RED BANK – Snowflakes may not be falling, but the spirit of the season is alive and well on Broad Street during “Holidays in July,” a festive celebration brought to life by the Red Bank RiverCenter in partnership with the beloved nonprofit Holiday Express.

RED BANK – Broadwalk, the seasonal pedestrian plaza, returns May 12, transforming a section of Broad Street into a vibrant community space through Sept. 30.

RED BANK – A new weekly market, the return of live music every Saturday night and Kids Takeovers on Fridays are all set for Broadwalk this summer in hopes of making the 2024 season the best yet for the downtown attraction.

The picturesque flower beds and bistro lighting of Broadwalk will be expanded this year to grace side streets in the downtown district through a RiverCenter beautification project.

The council reached an informal consensus at its latest meeting to open Broadwalk this season from May 15 through Oct. 1, but has yet to vote on the plan.

By popular demand, Red Bank RiverCenter, the borough’s promotional agency, has requested borough officials bring Broadwalk back from May 5 through Oct. 3.

In a productive meeting despite member differences, the Red Bank Borough Council appointed a new borough attorney – Daniel Antonelli – and unanimously extended the duration of Broadwalk through Oct. 2.
