EATONTOWN – Monmouth Mall, now rebranded as Monmouth Square, is rapidly transforming with the announcement of new leases for dining and retail outlets.

FORT MONMOUTH – Welcome to netflixnewjersey.com. A new website from the international entertainment company launched Jan. 28 “to share updates on the development of Netflix Studios at Fort Monmouth and our community engagement activities in New Jersey,” according to a company spokesperson.

FORT MONMOUTH – “The landscape of Fort Monmouth will look drastically different next year,” said Kara Kopach, executive director of the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority (FMERA), as 2024 drew to a close.

EATONTOWN – By unanimous vote Monday night, the Eatontown Planning Board joined Oceanport in approving the first phase of Netflix’s planned production studio complex on 292 acres of Fort Monmouth.

FORT MONMOUTH – As the planned Netflix Studios Fort Monmouth clears another hurdle, specifics of the complex are coming into sharper focus.

With closing still two years away, Netflix has been granted permission to begin demolishing 88 buildings on the 300 acres of Fort Monmouth the firm plans to transform into a major production studio. If the sale falls through, Netflix is responsible for completing and removing the approved demolition.

EATONTOWN – Amazon opened its first Amazon Fresh grocery store in the Two River area June 20, at the intersection of Wyckoff and Route 35. The store is within mere miles – and in one instance, a couple hundred feet – of several other supermarkets.

New York City-based developer Kushner Companies held a ceremonial groundbreaking May 9, kickstarting construction on a transformative $500 million project to redevelop the aging Monmouth Mall.

It is reassuring to see that not only are a good number of new restaurants opening in the Two River area but also that the incredible piece of property once home to Fort Monmouth is being repurposed in inventive ways. 

Amazon has been in the process of opening two Amazon Fresh grocery store locations in the Two River area, in Holmdel and Eatontown, for nearly two years now. Although the online retail giant boasted of a “unique” shopping experience with its Just Walk Out program, allowing shoppers to skip the checkout line completely, the company has confirmed it may completely do away with the program due to issues. Amazon Fresh will retain its smart Dash Carts which let customers check out through a digital pad affixed to the cart.
