Nearly every high school in New Jersey has collected uniforms and is putting a close to the spring sports season, but Rumson-Fair Haven athletic director Chris Lanzalotto is the busiest man in the Garden State thanks to an incredible performance by the Bulldogs spring sports teams across the board.

When Matt Bruno recorded the strikeout to secure the Bulldogs’ second straight section championship, the celebration was much more subdued than a year earlier.

Multiple projects that include upgrades to and construction of borough facilities were on the agenda at the latest council meeting. In a meeting that lasted nearly four hours, council members were given an overview of the borough’s stormwater management mandates, an update on the renovation process at borough facilities, and a presentation by the Two River Wastewater Reclamation Authority.

During a three-hour meeting on April 17, the borough governing body outlined plans for facility improvements and road and sidewalk “micro projects” that will take place at 30 locations around the borough.

The voices were young but the questions were sharp, as Knollwood School revived its annual tradition of pairing student council members with their borough council counterparts for a regular council meeting, all to inspire civic engagement.

A design firm under contract with the borough since 2017 delivered a presentation to the council Monday night about ongoing waterfront access projects. The presentation focused on a “pocket park” at the end of Hance Road, bulkhead replacement at Grange Avenue and boat ramp replacement at the end of Battin Road.

New Jersey American Water’s (NJAW) nearly $1 million Fair Haven water main replacement project began Feb. 13 along Highland Avenue, Hillcrest Road and Heights Terrace.

According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, violent crimes fall into four major categories: murder, rape, assault and robbery. Although the Two River area reports low to no violent crimes, some property crimes – like burglaries, auto thefts, larceny and arson – are reportedly climbing.
