RED BANK – In 2011, Dorothea Bongiovi and her husband, Jon Bon Jovi, wanted to start a unique place where those in need of a hot meal could be served with dignity. After witnessing families struggle in the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis, they created JBJ Soul Kitchen, a nonprofit venture through the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation, to combat hunger and poverty in their community.
