TINTON FALLS – The borough planning board voted unanimously April 24 to approve two additions to Trinity Hall, the all-girls Catholic high school at Hope and Corregidor roads on former Fort Monmouth property.

FORT MONMOUTH – It was more a celebration than a press conference. Ted Sarandos, co-CEO of Netflix, traveled to Fort Monmouth last Friday to take center stage at a press event announcing a key step toward building its planned production facility on the former U.S. Army Base.

A 23.78-acre wooded area between Hope and Pinebrook roads in the Tinton Falls section of Fort Monmouth is being purchased by the county for a new passive recreation park.

Pulling up to the rebranded Riverside Marina restaurant, formerly Marina at Oceanport, improvements are immediately apparent.

Organizers pre-sold 1,100 tickets, but ultimately close to 4,500 people showed up for the inaugural BouJee FoodieCon food and music festival held last Saturday and Sunday on the lawn behind Russel Hall on Fort Monmouth.

Final negotiations are underway with three potential tenants seeking to be first into the new retail center rising along Oceanport Avenue on Fort Monmouth, according to the property’s owner. 

A hotel, helipad, attractions, a visitor center and retail components are all allowed on the 292-acre Mega Parcel on track to become Netflix Studios Fort Monmouth.

During its final meeting of the year last night, the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority (FMERA) was poised to vote on a Purchase and Sale & Redevelopment Agreement (PSARA) with Netflix for the fort’s 292-acre Mega Parcel in Eatontown and Oceanport.

Major Fort Monmouth redevelopment projects that have been advancing through local, county and state bureaucracies for years are now becoming reality on the former U.S. Army base, causing disruption and some concern for a few neighbors.
