The proposed Kushner Companies development in Colts Neck is drawing more fire from environmentalists and residents and appears stuck in a revolving door of government agencies. Most recently the Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners sent the project back to the county’s planning board for “additional information” after pushback from residents and community groups at its Dec. 14 meeting.

A group of environmentalists are convinced that the drinking water in Monmouth County is at stake if a proposed development on an environmentally sensitive site within the township moves forward.

The developer of Colts Neck Manor is persistent but so are those opposing the project.
