In Red Bank, Pallone, Activists Press for Immigration Reform
The death of an immigrant detainee at Newark’s Delaney Hall Detention Center this week – the second in less than a year – has intensified state- wide calls to shutter the facility. Those calls were echoed during a panel convened July 28 by U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone Jr. (D-6) at Red Bank’s Borough Hall, where nearly a dozen immigration rights advocates from across the state joined borough elected officials.
