MIDDLETOWN – Kids, faces sticky with free cotton candy and grinning after a turn on the new slides, were a big part of the community reopening party for Waloo Park, Middletown’s first resident-designed playground.

FAIR HAVEN – Borough officials in Fair Haven have their sights set on constructing a new inclusive playground with help from the Jake’s Law program.

With the application deadline for the New Jersey Green Acres grant program fast approaching, several municipalities in the Two River area are seeking funds to revitalize or establish new parks that offer all-inclusive playgrounds, through a special allotment from the Jake’s Law program, extended to municipalities this year.

The children of Fair Haven have a new playground. And in addition to the four slides, two age-appropriate climbing options and various sensory play items, it boasts a shade structure large enough to keep kids from roasting in the mid-day sun.
