We are social creatures. Even the most solitary among us may crave interaction with others from time to time. For many, once they’ve retired from their careers and their children have grown up and left home, finding social outlets can be challenging.

Blueprints and construction staging plans for the Red Bank Senior Center are complete and the center is finally getting renovated after three years of being in a state of disrepair.

RED BANK – The senior center has been a controversial and at times emotional topic of conversation in Red Bank this year.

The Red Bank Borough Council is debating whether or not to add the property at 80 Shrewsbury Ave., the current home of the Red Bank Senior Center, to the Recreation and Open Space Inventory to ensure it remains public property.

Five new concept plans to upgrade the Red Bank Senior Center were reviewed by the members of the borough’s redevelopment agency March 23.
