WEST LONG BRANCH – Residents of Oceanport, Monmouth Beach, Sea Bright and West Long Branch overwhelmingly voted “no” to Shore Regional’s March 11 bond referendum.

WEST LONG BRANCH – Oceanport, Monmouth Beach, West Long Branch and Sea Bright residents will cast their votes March 11 on the Shore Regional High School District’s proposed $51 million bond referendum to fund projects that include a range of infrastructure and facilities improvements.

In 1999, the voters of Atlantic Highlands approved a special dedicated municipal tax of $0.01 per $100 of assessed real estate value to fund an open space program. The borough uses that money to purchase and maintain properties as open space and for recreational functions.

After years of studies and discussions, residents went to the polls to vote on the future of their public school districts and regionalization passed by a wide margin.

The township is looking to expand its Open Space Trust Fund and will ask residents to weigh in on a 1-cent rate increase per $100 of assessed home valuation this November.
