HIGHLANDS – If driving to New York to catch a Mets baseball game this season sounds daunting, ferries are ready to set sail from Highlands to Citi Field and return you after the game. After a decade-long absence, Seastreak has officially resumed its ferry service to Citi Field for New York Mets games, bringing fans a scenic and hassle-free alternative to the notoriously congested drive to Queens.

HIGHLANDS – Seastreak, LLC will be driving cleaner transit in the future. After receiving a $54.9 million grant from the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Clean Ports Program, Seastreak will be able to provide zero-emission highspeed electric ferries to and from the Jersey Shore.

The Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division, has overturned a 2022 decision rejecting NY Waterway’s claim it should have won the contract to run commuter ferry service from the Belford terminal to Manhattan.

Commuters traveling to New York City from Belford have a new ride: Seastreak recently launched Millennium, a 121-foot, high-speed catamaran, to ferry residents daily from the Monmouth County port to the West Side of New York City.

As Two River area residents know, once Memorial Day comes along, everybody wants to come to visit. Whether it’s the beach, Monmouth Park or the plentiful county parks, folks are flocking to our towns.

A windfall of federal grant funding will allow Monmouth County to make substantial critical infrastructure upgrades to the Belford Ferry Terminal.
