Since no Northeast teams made it to the championship, during this year’s Super Bowl, most Two River-area residents likely enjoyed the thrill of the sport, the food, the commercials, the music and even Taylor Swift sightings. But there was a portion of the audience whose emotions may have been riding on another aspect of the game – the final score.

RUMSON – For 10 straight years, Rumson-Fair Haven has made it to a sectional final. And for the second straight year, the already filled-up trophy case needs to make some room.

Little Silver’s Chris Gotterup and Middletown’s Ryan McCormick earned PGA Tour cards for the 2024 season by finishing high enough in the Korn Ferry Tour rankings.

It was a vibrant picnic day Saturday, July 22, when eight horses took to the starting gate to vie for the 2023 $1 million TVG.com Haskell Stakes at Monmouth Park Race track. Geaux Rocket Ride held off Kentucky Derby-winner Mage to take home the prize.

Red Bank Catholic’s athletic program has been one of the steadiest and most consistent both on and off the field for the better part of three decades and that stability will remain despite a change at the top. 

Nearly every high school in New Jersey has collected uniforms and is putting a close to the spring sports season, but Rumson-Fair Haven athletic director Chris Lanzalotto is the busiest man in the Garden State thanks to an incredible performance by the Bulldogs spring sports teams across the board.

When Matt Bruno recorded the strikeout to secure the Bulldogs’ second straight section championship, the celebration was much more subdued than a year earlier.
