Richard D. Tetley, 89, passed away in Middletown May 17. He was born in Long Branch to the late Harold and Hazel (Dennis) Tetley.
Richard worked for the U.S. Postal service in Little Silver for 40 years. He was a communicant of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Little Silver, a member and former chief of the Little Silver Fire Department, a charter member of the First Aid Squad and a Special Police Officer in town. Richard enjoyed spending quality time with his family, golf, and was an avid Mets fan.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Phyllis, of 65 years and his loving children and their spouses: Karen DiNocera and Anthony, Robert and Lisa and James and Teri Tetley. Also, surviving are his adoring grandchildren and their spouses: Cara Varricchio and Thomas, Daniel and Krista DiNocera and Garrett Tetley.
A life celebration was held May 20 at the John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, with a Chapel service. Internment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Richard’s name to the Little Silver Volunteer Fire Department, 480 Prospect Ave., Little Silver, NJ 07739
