RED BANK – The Pilgrim Baptist Church of Red Bank held its 7th annual Bike Blessing and Bike Safety Day in its parking lot Saturday, June 1. Sponsored by the church, the Red Bank Affordable Housing Corporation, EZ Ride of New Jersey, and the Red Bank Police Department, the event brought together youth of the community to teach them proper bicycle safety.
In addition to the bikers who came to have their bikes blessed by Rev. Terrence Porter, pastor of the church, several police motorcyclists from Holmdel, Hazlet and Howell came to show their support. Children were given the chance to test their safety skills on a mock course filled with twists and turns.
