Theodore Joseph Moss III

1288

Theodore “Ted” Joseph Moss III, 72, of Little Silver, passed away peacefully Dec. 30, 2023. He left this world surrounded by the love of his family and friends after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Ted was born in Red Bank to Ted and Marguerite Moss. He retired after a long career with the United States Postal Service as the postmaster in Neptune.

Above all, Ted loved spending time with his family, from bowling with his father and brothers to time spent around the dinner table. He had an open-door policy and all were welcome. He loved a crowd for Sunday dinners prepared by his wife Connee, where everyone looked forward to homemade desserts.

Ted was extremely proud of his children and their accomplishments and loved visits from his granddaughter Ivy. Ted also enjoyed spending time by the pool, usually with a good book, and watching his favorite New York sports teams, the Giants and the Yankees. His enduring love and commitment to family were evident in the strong foundation he built, providing a source of strength, inspiration and security.

Ted was predeceased by his parents, Ted and Marguerite Moss. He is survived by his wife, Connee Moss, with whom he enjoyed 50 years of marriage; his children, Kelsey Moss, Ellie Moss and her husband Sam Stamler, and T.J. Moss and his wife Kelly Moss; a granddaughter, Ivy Marie Stamler; and four siblings, Kevin (Patricia) Moss, Brian (Carla) Moss, Carolyn (Jeff) McDaniel, and Marianne (Tom) Dunn.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Jan. 5 at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St., Red Bank. A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Jan. 6 at Church of the Nativity, 180 Ridge Road, Fair Haven. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ted’s memory to the Count Basie Center for the Arts at thebasie.org or Catholic Charities Diocese of Trenton at catholiccharitiestrenton.org.
