Thomas M. Fisher, 50, of Leonardo, passed away March 8, 2026. He was born in Plainfield and lived in Leonardo with his family. Thomas worked as a longshoreman with the ILA for several years. He was known for his loyalty to the people he loved, his strong presence, and the deep pride he took in being a husband, father and friend.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Erika Kern Fisher; his daughter, Francesca Fisher; two brothers, Jamie Fisher and Rick Fisher (Donna); his in-laws, Bert and Judy Kern; his brothers-in-law, Bert Kern (Patricia) and Kevin Kern (Alex Hernandez Mann); his sister-in-law, Dana Kern; his nephew, Zachary Fisher; and his nieces, Ava Kern and Zoe Kern.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Valarie Fisher.

Known lovingly as “Fish,” Tom cherished the circle of friends he made throughout his life, from growing up in Scotch Plains to managing family nightclubs to his time at Rider University, and his passionate love for Jets games. His friendships spanned decades, including those formed during his 23-year marriage, fellow dads he met after becoming a father, and his ILA brothers.

A memorial visitation will be held 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. March 12 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. Prayers will be offered at 3:30 p.m. during the service.
