David Gerald Tillou Sr., 70, of Hazlet, passed away peacefully surround- ed by his loving family at his home on Monday, September 7. David was born on May 17, 1945 in Newark and grew up in Hillside. After marriage, he settled in Colonia to raise his family. In 2000, David relocated to Hazlet.

David was the proprietor of his own construction consulting company, Design Enterprises Incorporated, which was located in Hazlet. He was also an excellent professional bowler, which was recognized when he earned the honor of becoming a part of the New Jersey Bowling Hall of Fame. In addition, David was a die-hard New York Giants fan.

He was predeceased by his parents, Alonzo and Helen (Oswald) Tillou; and his siblings, Russell “Rusty” Tillou, Richard Tillou and “Red” Tillou. David is survived by his former wife, Kathleen Tillou of Hazlet; his loving children, David Gerald Tillou Jr. and his companion Danielle Scarfone of Carteret, Robin Tillou of Orlando, Fla., and Richard M. Tillou of Hazlet; his dear sister, Doris Coogan and her husband Jack of Calif.; and his cherished granddaughters, Gianna Tillou and Valentina Tillou. He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, September 10, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, September 11 from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3269 State Route 35 North, Hazlet. A prayer service will be offered at the funeral home on Friday, September 11 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery in Kenilworth.
