James Michael Vaubel, 68, of Lincroft died Aug. 18 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late James Edward and Elizabeth Louise Vaubel.
Mike worked for Loews Corporation in hotel sales prior to starting his own business and continuing in that until he retired. He was an avid fisher, taking charter boats with his friends or surf fishing at the Shore. He enjoyed spending time at Tom’s Tavern in Farmingdale. Mike was a genuinely nice guy. He was above all a family man and loved his wife, children and grandchildren deeply.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Marybeth Vaubel; his daughter and son-in-law Dana and Matthew Watson; his son and daughter-in-law Christopher and Keri Vaubel; his five grandchildren, Connor, Madeline, CJ, Ryan and Alex; and his sister and brother-in-law Janice and Charles Evans.
James was preceded in death by his parents, James Edward and Elizabeth Louise Vaubel.
A memorial visitation was held Aug. 24 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
