Veronica Elizabeth Clancy, 62, of Middletown, passed away peacefully Oct. 4, 2026, at Riverview Hospital in Red Bank.
Born in Union City, Veronica was the daughter of Veronica and Francisco Torres. She graduated from Emerson High School in Union City and went on to earn a degree in business administration.
Veronica spent many years in the logistics industry, building a long, dedicated career with companies including UTI and Shipco. She was known for her strong personality, determination and work ethic.
For 43 years, Veronica shared love, laughter, challenges and joy with her long-term spouse, Brian Clancy. Together, they built a life and a family filled with countless memories.
Veronica was truly the life of the party. She loved music, dancing, singing, card games, gambling and good Italian and Spanish food. Whenever music played – especially disco, freestyle or dance music – she was sure to be up dancing and singing along, whether she knew the words or not. Fierce, strong, outspoken and always unapologetically herself, Veronica brought energy and laughter wherever she went.
Above all, Veronica treasured her family. She enjoyed spending quality time with her children, Nicole and Brian, whether watching movies together or sitting and talking for hours about anything and everything. She had a remarkable ability to make the people around her feel loved and special. Her hugs were legendary – warm, genuine and full of love.
Veronica will be remembered for her strength, humor, love of music and dancing, fiery spirit, and immense love for her family. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories that all who knew and loved her will cherish.
She is survived by her husband Brian; daughter Nicole; son Brian; grandchildren Ethan, Camilla and Theo; her siblings Charles, Hilda, Frank, Louis, Edward, Lillian, Carmen, Lynn and Victor; as well as many extended family members and dear friends.
Veronica was also a loving grandmother to Sophia, who was stillborn in 2021 and will forever remain a cherished part of the family.
A prayer service will be held at 10 a.m. Oct. 9 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. A memorial gathering will follow from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
