Virginia “Ginny” Ruth King

Virginia “Ginny” Ruth King, age 95, of Middletown, passed away Sept. 16. Ginny, as she was known to friends, was born Aug. 23, 1925 to parents William H. Bloom and Ruth Bloom in New York City. She grew up in the Laurelton section of Queens, New York and graduated from Wagner College.

Ginny worked as a registered nurse at New York Hospital (now New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center) and later was a supervisor at King James Nursing Home (now CareOne at King James) in Atlantic Highlands.

In 1963, Ginny married the love of her life, Clinton King Jr. They eventually left New York City and settled in Middletown. Ginny and Clint enjoyed travel, the theater and opera and were married for 50 years. Clint predeceased Ginny in 2013.

Ginny is survived by her sister-in-law Barbara Blair and a niece Katherine Madigan.

Ginny will be buried at All Saints Memorial Church in Navesink beside her husband.
