Wayne R. Strobel, 40, of Atlantic Highlands, passed away March 31, 2026.
Wayne grew up in Port Reading and later made his home along the Jersey Shore. He was a driven entrepreneur with a bold spirit and a passion for bringing ideas to life. As the founder of Beach Box Fitness and later Cryolete Spa, Wayne built more than businesses; he created community, connection and inspiration.
Wayne was a light and a true force of nature who brought warmth and energy into every room he entered. He was the kindest, most gentle soul, someone who would give the shirt off his back; he made everyone feel seen and valued.
He lived fully and unapologetically, dancing through store aisles, marching to his own drum, and offering encouragement to those around him. Wayne loved Jesus and found peace by the ocean.
Wayne also shared his unique “GLADO” practice with others, often engaging even strangers in meaningful reflection by asking what they were grateful for, a lesson learned, an achievement or victory, a delight, and an opportunity. It was one of the many ways he uplifted those around him.
He had a heart of gold, a contagious laugh, and a presence that could not be ignored. Whether spending time with those he loved, being part of “TWA,” or singing at the top of his lungs, Wayne showed up fully. He was the friend who would always find a way or make it happen.
He is survived by his father, Wayne (Karen) Strobel; his mother, Patricia Strobel; his brother, Kyle Strobel (husband Corey Tilburg); his step brother Henry (Mackenzie) Zalewski; his nieces and nephew, Madilyn, Harper and Henry Zalewski; his partner Earl Farwell; cherished dog, Kenzie; and many extended family members and dear friends.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Visitation was held April 7 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A prayer service was held during the visitation.
