William E. Drastal, age 76, passed away peacefully Nov. 4, 2023, surrounded by family.
William was a loving son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He was a childhood polio survivor with a quick, dry, unforgettable sense of humor.
William worked as a sky marshal in the 1970s, a U.S. Customs agent, and later went on to be a professional actor (member of SAG-AFTRA). He also was a “Jeopardy!” contestant and he was a dedicated and passionate author and playwright.
William was a veteran of the Vietnam War and an active supporter of fellow veterans.
He is survived by his brother, sister, cousins and loving nephews and nieces. William will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
A graveside service was held Nov. 10 at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America New Jersey Chapter in William Drastal’s honor at vva.org/donate. William was a part of the NJ Shore Area Chapter 12 group. Thompson Memorial Home of Red Bank has been entrusted with the arrangements.
