William Paul Pesek, 82, of Green Cove Springs, Florida, formerly of Rumson, passed away Sept. 8, 2025. He was born in Jersey City to the late William and Catherine Wientjes Pesek.

Bill was a 1960 graduate of Red Bank Catholic. After joining the United States Navy at the age of 17, Bill lived in many parts of the United States, as well as Spain. He spent 28 years serving his country in many different roles before retiring from the Navy in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1985. He went on to have another career with Discount Auto Parts for over 15 years before retiring for a second time.

Bill was an outdoorsman who treasured spending time with his sons either fishing or hunting for whatever the current season allowed. He truly loved being outdoors as he appreciated nature and enjoyed the wildlife around him. A witty man, Bill was always ready with a silly quip or a “dad joke.” He was also a stoic man who kept his feelings close to his heart but was always willing to help anyone at any time. He could be stubborn and opinionated, but would give a person the shirt off his own back.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William Pesek and Catherine Wientjes Pesek. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Ana Pesek; three sons, Bill Pesek (Wendy), Michael Pesek (Sharon) and Jim Pesek (Heather); two sisters, Claire Kavanaugh (Dennis) of Rumson and Mary Ann Haase (Tom) of Lake City, Florida; as well as eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The family will hold a private family memorial at home.
