Carol Nanette Wilson, age 77, of Bluffton, South Carolina, passed away Jan. 20. She was born Sept. 22, 1941 to the late David Sanderson and Lucille Sanderson Horn.

Nanette attended Manas-quan High School before attending Green Mountain College. She was an active member in both her community and church. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Atlantic Highlands Yacht Club, a Sunday school teacher at the United Methodist Church in Atlantic Highlands and helped create and teach in the Picture Lady program at the Navesink Elementary School. 

Growing up in Belmar, Nanette cherished spending time with friends and helping at her parents’ restaurant, Daves. She worked at an architectural firm before she married the love of her life Robert Wilson in 1966. The couple moved to Locust where they continued to live their lives together while raising their two children, Laura and David. Later in life, Nanette received her realtors’ license and worked for Weichert Realtors of Rumson. Bob and Nanette moved to Bluffton, South Carolina in 2005, where they enjoyed sailing and swimming year-round. 

Nanette is survived by her husband, two children, her grandchild Skylar Smith, and son-in-law Kenneth Smith, as well as a number of loving and close friends.

The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her last days.

A private service was held Jan. 26. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org, are appreciated.
