Winifred Steinthal Svikhart passed away peacefully Sept. 20, 2021, at her home in Little Silver, surrounded by her loved ones.

Winifred was born Oct. 27, 1932, in Manhattan to Martin and Winifred Steinthal. After attending the Convent of the Sacred Heart, she graduated from Manhattanville College in 1954 with a degree in economics. She was a research librarian for the Rockefeller Foundation until her marriage to her great love, Clifford Miles Svikhart, Sept. 13, 1958. They moved their growing family to Rumson in 1964 where they raised their six children. Winifred was very active at Holy Cross church and school where she was the treasurer of the antique show for many years, among other roles.

Winifred was predeceased by her parents; her sister Angela; her beloved husband Clifford; and her granddaughter Molly Richards. She is survived by her brother Martin Bradley Steinthal (Kathleen) of Rye, New York; her sister Mrs. Peter Coleman of Little Silver; her six children, Winifred Supple (Michael) of Belford, Elizabeth Garner (Charles) of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, Miles of Little Silver, John (Dr. David Dornfeld) of Atlantic Highlands, Martin (Shannon) of Baltimore, Maryland, and Ann Richards of Fair Haven; her beloved 14 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Winifred was a Master bridge player and could be found many an afternoon playing at Rumson Country Club.

Visitation was Sept. 27 at the Church of the Nativity, Fair Haven, where a Mass of Christian Burial was also celebrated.

Burial followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank, is in charge of the arrangements.
