Winston E. Wood, son of the late Arnold and Cornelia Ely Wood, died Feb. 13, 2021, at age 88. He was a longtime resident of Monmouth County before retiring to Vero Beach, Florida. He enjoyed his summers as a gentleman farmer in Montrose, Pennsylvania.

Winston was born June 2, 1932, in New York City. He attended the Rumson Country Day School (’47), Vermont Academy (’51) and the University of Vermont (’58). He was a member of the U.S. Army during the close of the Korean War (1951-53). Winston was a member of the New York Stock Exchange, where he also served as director of the NYSE luncheon club. He became a partner at Pershing and Co. in 1964.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, William and Steven; stepson Mark Wynne; and grandson Jack Wynne. He is survived by his wife Alma Warriner Wood; daughter Cornelia Wood Cox (Jamie); stepchildren, Suzanne Linneen (Frank), William Wynne (Anita) and Robert Wynne (Amy); and grandchildren, Alyssa Wynne, Conor, Mackenzie and Morgan Linneen, Derek Wynne, Dawson and Emma Wynne, and Elizabeth and Ann Catherine Cox.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Monmouth County SPCA or the Vero Beach Humane Society.
