Yolanda M. Romano

Yolanda M. Romano née Luciano left us March 5, 2021, at the age of 100. She was born in Newark and resided in Toms River for 25 years before moving to Shrewsbury for the last seven years of her life.

Yolanda was a proud 1938 graduate of Bloomfield High School. She and her husband Chester raised their two children in Bloomfield and resided there for 42 years. Yolanda was employed by Bamburgers, National Newark and Essex Bank, and Midlantic Bank for years before retiring in 1985.

Yolanda was known by her family as an amazing cook. She also enjoyed traveling, watching game shows and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Yolanda was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Chester, in 2004, three brothers and three sisters, and a granddaughter, Kristen, in 2021.

Yolanda was a caring mother especially devoted to her family. She is survived by her sons Chester and his wife Cathy and Tom and his wife Diane. She is also survived by her younger brother Leo and his wife Adelaide; her adored grandchildren, Michael (wife Erika), Brian (wife Audrey), David (wife Jaclyn), Allison (husband Mike), Jason (wife Jessica), Matthew and Andrew; and her precious great-grandchildren, Kylie, Sadie, Cassidy, Lucia, Emelia, Nicholas, Alexander and Christian.

Visitation is March 11 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St., Red Bank, with a service Friday, March 12 at 10:30 a.m.
