Richard Dennis Zochowski, 72, of Rumson and Palm Beach, passed away Nov. 23. He was born in South River to the late Thaddeus and Felicia (Maronski) Zochowski. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut which he attended on a football scholarship and where he was a proud member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.
Richard was a member of the Antique Motoring Club of Monmouth County and the Shrewsbury River Yacht Club. Richard had a passion for boating, watching football and collecting cars. Before retiring, he had a long-standing and successful career in business. Most of all, Richard enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, his family and his dear friends.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years Ruth (Librera) Zochowski; his loving daughters, Karyn Twaronite and Christen Volk; their husbands Joseph Twaronite and Kevin Volk; and his cherished grandchildren, Gretchen Volk, Jack Twaronite and Griffin Volk.
Visitation was held at the John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, Nov. 25 and 26. A service was held at the funeral home Nov. 27. Interment followed at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery in South River.
