Jack J. Zorski Jr. passed away peacefully in his sleep May 23 at his home in East Falmouth, Massachusetts. He was 72 years old.

He is predeceased by his father John Zorski; mother Margaret Zorski; and younger brother Kevin Zorski, who died last November. He leaves behind his best friend and loving wife of 36 years Elizabeth (Betsy) Zorski; his two sons, Jake Zorski and Taylor Zorski; his two sisters, Suzanne Wehren and Peggy Zembrusky; and his nephew Jesse Zorski.

Jack Zorski was born in New York City. He attended Chaminade High School in Mineola, New York and graduated from Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut with a Bachelor of Arts in sociology. He earned his master’s degree in education at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York.

Jack Zorski was a big guy with a big personality and, more importantly, an even bigger heart.  He was passionate about his New York Giants and Knicks, Ballantine Ale, staying on top of his gold and silver accounts, and Boy Scouts. Family was of the utmost importance to Jack and his two sons, Jake and Taylor, were his pride and joy. He enjoyed weekend “chore time” with them, coaching their sports teams and raising them to be kind, genuine and respectful. Jack and Betsy raised their family in Lincroft for 26 years.

After retiring in 2003 from sales with Hewlett Packard, Jack pursued his first passion of education. He began volunteering his time at Monmouth Regional High School in Tinton Falls, working with high-need students to advance their education by opening opportunities for them, providing financial and emotional guidance, and helping them earn their way into four-year colleges.

After moving to Falmouth, Massachusetts in 2012, Jack expanded his impact by volunteering at Falmouth High School. He spent 15 years working with high-need students in New Jersey and Massachusetts. In those 15 years, Jack provided resources and guidance to over 150 students, many of whom may not have ever had the chance to attend college without his help and unwavering support.

In 2013, the Falmouth VIPS program awarded Jack the High School Volunteer of the Year award. In 2015 Jack won the Friend of Public Education Award from the Massachusetts Association of School Committees and The Falmouth School Committee. Most notably, in 2017 Jack was honored with the New England Patriots’ Myra Kraft Community MVP Award and was then recognized by the Massachusetts House of Representatives for his outstanding commitment as a college mentor.

A scholarship in Jack’s name has been created. Contributions to this scholarship will help close the financial gap for students in the college mentoring program at FHS, which Jack created and led under the Falmouth VIPS program. Donations to the Jack Zorski “Hope” Scholarship should be sent to Falmouth VIPS, 874 Gifford St., Falmouth, MA 02540. We hope that this scholarship can continue to spread Jack’s impact and will carry on his legacy.

A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, June 22 at 11 a.m. at St Anthony’s Church in East Falmouth.
