ASBURY PARK – Asbury Agile, Asbury Park’s annual web, mobile, and technology conference returns for its 4th installment on Friday, Oct. 3, event organizers have announced.
The theme for the conference is “The Process of Building” and includes a variety of talks from thought leaders hailing from companies such as Facebook, Etsy, Pivotal Labs, Huge, local branding agency MStudio, and more.
Over the past four years Asbury Agile and its sister community, The Jersey Shore Tech Meetup, have offered startups, first time entrepreneurs, as well as designers and developers an outlet to learn, network, and build companies in and around Asbury Park.
“Our community is now over 1,000 members strong and growing,” conference co-founder Bret Morgan said.
While most of the startup community is centered around Cowerks, a coworking/shared office space for designers, software developers and entrepreneurs, larger technology companies, such as iCIMS in Matawan, Marathon Data Systems in Neptune, and Commvault, which is currently relocating to the former Fort Monmouth, have been leading the way for job creation in our area.
“It’s really been amazing to see how much the community has grown over these past few years. You’re really starting to see Monmouth County become a viable center for startups to set up shop,” said Asbury Agile co-founder Kevin Fricovsky.
Those speaking at the conference are:

  • Jonathan Berger, designer/developer, Pivotal Labs
  • Tami Evnin, product designer, Nasdaq OMX
  • Amjad Masad, software engineer, Facebook
  • Diana Mounter, senior product designer, Etsy
  • Jenn Schiffer, open web engineer, Bocoup
  • David Rossitter, analytics lead, Huge

  • Tim Holman, product engineer, Tumblr
  • Bill Hazard, VP of engineering, Marathon Data Systems
  • Vineet Sahni, director of product development, iCIMS
