George T. Fary, 88, passed away at home on Thursday, June 16. Born in Long Branch to the late Sylvester and Ida (Lewis) Fary, he lived his whole life as an Eatontown resident. George worked as a roofer for Ft. Monmouth, retiring after 25+ years, and he proudly served our country in the Navy dur- ing World War II. He was a past member of the Eatontown fire depart- ment as well as a chaperone for the Jersey Rangers, his main occupation and pleas- ure after retirement was his grandchildren. George was predeceased by his parents and three siblings. Surviving are his beloved wife of 66 years, Gertrude (Aumack) Fary; his six children and their spouses, Robert Fary of Pa., Patricia and Robert Yuille of Ore., Lawrence Fary of Toms River, Cathleen Desmond of Eatontown, Jean and William Mego of Eatontown and Thomas Fary of Eatontown; his sister and brother, Harriet Hill and Kenneth Fary both of Eatontown; 10 grandchildren, Caroline, Chad, Lisa, Sandra, Eric, Kimberly, Joshua, Jennifer, Courtney and Megan; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
