COLTS NECK – Spring is right around the corner and so is the official start of the 2013 golf season.

All of Monmouth County Park System’s six county golf courses – Bel-Aire in Wall, Charleston Springs in Millstone, Hominy Hill in Colts Neck, Howell Park in Howell, Pine Brook in Manalapan and Shark River in Neptune – will be open March 4, weather permitting.

Park system officials are reminding golfers to buy a park system golf card to get the most out of the season. The cards provide access to the park system tee-time reservation system, accessible online at or by telephone at 732-758-8383, and provide discounted green fees.

The two courses opened for winter golf – Bel-Aire and Charleston Springs – are already selling the cards.

Golfers will be able to purchase the card at any county course starting March 4. County and non-county golfers can choose between a one-year golf card for $44 or a discounted two-year golf card for $75. Cards will be honored one or two years from the date of purchase.

Nonresident golfers can also choose a full privilege card for $350. Good for one year, the card makes the holder eligible for resident rates. Junior golf cards are available for county and noncounty golfers through the age of 20 for $19 and are good for one year.

To purchase a golf card, prospective Monmouth County resident golfers must provide a current New Jersey photo driver’s license or a current property tax bill with applicant’s name and street address and one of the following: last year’s golf card; a current vehicle registration card; a current voter registration card; a current New Jersey hunting and/or fishing license.

Once golfers have their card, they will be able to take advantage of the park system’s 2013 golf specials including the loyal golfer special, friends and family golf special, and reserved tee times for group outings.

The loyal golfer special rewards golfers with a free round for every 15 paid 18-hole rounds. The friends and family golf special allows cardholders to host up to three guests per visit at the adult cardholder rate.  Some restrictions apply to these offers.

Additional information about the specials or park system golf is available by visiting or by calling the park system at 732-842-4000. People with hearing impairment may call the TTY/TDD number at 711.
