Holiday Express Benefit Concerts at Basie and NJPAC
Holiday Express is holding two great benefit performances this season and tickets are available for both shows.
The Holiday Express benefit show, presented by Citi, at Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, and at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, at NJPAC in Newark, presented by Investors Bank.
The shows will be a rock n’ soul holiday concert for all ages, featuring the Jersey Shore’s most philanthropic musicians performing holiday favorites, all to benefit those less fortunate.
The more than 30 professional musicians and singers, lead by Tim McLoone, blend a unique mixture of traditional, gospel, blues, and rock music into a one-and-a-half hour performance showcasing the entertainment they’ve been providing the less fortunate in the tri-state area for the past 19 years. Young and old will also enjoy an appearance from Frosty, the Grinch and of course Santa himself. This year’s show will also feature new songs from the band’s latest CD, titled Happy Holidays.
Tickets for the Count Basie show in Red Bank are $125, $75, $59, $49 and $25 and may be purchased at the Count Basie box office, by phone at 732-842-9000 or online at www.countbasietheatre.org.
Tickets for the NJPAC show in Newark are $53, $38, and $28 and can be purchased at the NJPAC box office, by phone at 1-888-GO NJPAC (466-5722) or online at www.njpac.org
Every holiday season Holiday Express visits more than 15,000 special individuals. They visit homeless shelters, psychiatric hospitals, developmental centers, children’s hospitals, and other locations whose residents are often forgotten. Many have no families or friends.
Holiday Express is a nonprofit organization that delivers music, food, gifts, financial support and friendship to those with the greatest need for the gift of human kindness during the holiday season and throughout the year.
All proceeds will be used to support the efforts of Holiday Express. More information about Holiday Express is available at www.holidayexpress.org.
