A Red Bank man faces charges from Monmouth Beach and Red Bank police for allegedly breaking into a Monmouth Beach home, resisting arrest and drug possession.
Christopher C. Jones, 29, St. Mary’s Place, is alleged to have entered a Monmouth Road home on Nov. 28, Thanksgiving Day, and stolen a Samsung TV, an Apple iPad tablet computer, a gold ring, a pair of gold earrings and a box of gold of coins in U.S. and foreign currencies, according to the criminal complaint submitted to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.
Jones was arrested in Red Bank on Tuesday, Dec. 3, in Red Bank, on outstanding warrants. Before Jones could be taken into custody, he fled on foot with officers having to chase after him for a number of blocks before apprehending him.
When arrested, he was found to allegedly be in possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana, police said.
Police discovered the marijuana while searching Jones’s coat, which was discarded while he running, according to the complaint.
