12/5 – Saturday Conference to Look at ‘What’s Next, One Year After Sandy’
 
LONG BRANCH – The Waves of Action For the Shore Program by Clean Ocean Action will culminate Saturday during a conference featuring distinguished speakers, panel discussions and sea-level rise survey results.
The conference will be held from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at McLoone’s Pier House, One Ocean Ave. There will be an 8:30 breakfast and registration.
The conference will highlight the extraordinary success of Waves of Action volunteers and project leaders, release results of a summer-long survey on sea level rise and accountability, and include the panels:

  • What Do Communities Need Now and How Can Volunteers Help?
  • What Resources are Available for Resiliency and Environmental Stewardship?

The speakers and panelists will include: U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, D-6; Brian Thompson, New Jersey reporter for NBC New York; Britta Wenzel, Save Barnegat Bay executive director; Emilio DeLia, New Jersey Recovery Fund Project manager; Frank Lawrence, Sea Bright Volunteer coordinator; Justin Auciello, Jersey Shore Hurricane News founder; Lauren Townsend, N.J. director of US Strong; and Tom Dallessio, director of NJIT Center for Resilient Design.
The Waves of Action Conference Sponsors are Whole Earth Center of Princeton, Montecalvo Recovery Facility, New Jersey 101.5 FM Radio, Barefoot Wine and Bubbly.
