8/17 – Applications Being Accepted for County’s Citizen Police Academy

FREEHOLD – Applications are now being accepted for enrollment in the 18th Annual Citizen Police Academy to be held at the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office Public Safety Center, 2500 Kozloski Road.
Citizen Police Academy is a 12-hour block of instruction designed to give attendees an overview of law enforcement services in Monmouth County and features presentations by municipal, county, state and federal law enforcement agencies.
The course consists of six sessions from 7 to 9 p.m. on consecutive Tuesday evenings. The course is also the prerequisite for becoming a member of the VISCOMP Volunteer Program.
Class begins Sept. 23, with graduation on Oct. 28. Applications are available to Monmouth County residents, age 18 or older, who have no criminal record. The deadline for applying is Friday, Sept.12. Enrollment is limited. There is no fee for the course.
