Elizabeth Morgan Miltenberger, 91, also known as Liz and Biz, of Little Silver, died peacefully Dec. 22, 2021, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Liz was born Jan. 26, 1930, in Baltimore, Maryland, and raised on Port Washington, Long Island. She graduated Kendall Hall School for Girls in Peterborough, New Hampshire, then Centenary Junior College, Hackettstown in 1950. Liz planned to further her education at Bucknell University yet met her forever person in Henry and married in 1951. They purchased land in Little Silver in 1953
and together constructed their own home where they resided their full lives.
Liz was an amazing homemaker and caregiver. Her kindness and positivity drew people to her and her home was always filled with back door “pop-in” friends, relatives and neighbors of all ages. Liz was also a primary school teacher’s aide in the Long Branch school system, a gift wrapper and shipper for both Little Silver Gift Winds stores, a floral designer at Boxwood Gardens in Fair Haven and, into her 70s, arranged, staged events and decorated homes for Christmas for Craig Kiely Designs in Red Bank. Liz was a Girl Scout leader, a member of the Monmouth County Junior League and Sustainers, a member of Monmouth Beach Bathing Pavilion, an alter guild volunteer and parishioner at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Little Silver. Liz was also a 62-year member of Shrewsbury Sailing and Yacht Club in Oceanport, where she and Henry raced Comets and shared their passion for sailing, racing and the Shrewsbury River with their daughters and grandson.
Those who knew Liz felt blessed to travel life’s journey with her. Her bright smile, “Energizer bunny” spirit, impromptu dances, incredible demonstrations of flexibility, and overall love and silliness will truly be missed.
Liz was predeceased by her husband Henry S. Miltenberger; her parents William F. (Dorothy P.) Morgan; her brother Egbert S. Montell; and nephew John M. Nelson. She is survived by her sister Ann M. Nelson, Little Silver; two daughters, Catherine M. (Peter) Tamblyn and Virginia P. Miltenberger, Little Silver; grandson Andrew P. Tamblyn, Sea Bright; and four nieces, two nephews and a great-nephew.

Interment will be private. Thompson Memorial Home of Red Bank has been entrusted with the arrangements.
