Marian Ocampo of Middletown passed away peacefully June 11, 2022. Marian is survived by her four children, Rebecca Sarnicola, Marie Esther Brown, Lorenzo Francis Allas, and Erick Allas; her three siblings, Rebecca Villadelgado, Chito Ocampo, and Marie Francisco; and her four grandchildren, Michael, Lyla, Dylan and Elizabeth.

Marian was born in the Philippines to Dominiciano Ocampo and Natividad Antonio. She came into the world with a tenacious spirit and a strong will to live which carried her through her life. With a strong passion for education and learning, Marian earned her bachelor’s degree from University of the Philippines and master’s in guidance counseling from Ateneo University. She later went on to become a guidance counselor at Ateneo University.

In 1995, Marian immigrated to the United States to provide her children with a better life. As a single mother, her faith and dedication to motherhood was unparalleled. She worked several jobs to give her children a world of opportunities, all while battling kidney disease.

Marian had end-stage renal disease and endured 28 years of hemodialysis, rotating in and out of the hospital for her weekly treatments. But despite the toll that the treatments took on her body, she spent much of her time and energy focused on raising her family and living a full and healthy life. She was truly a testament of hope, strength, faith and love.

Marian was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She enjoyed watching her favorite shows, indulging in great food with friends and family, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation was held June 16 and 17 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral liturgy was offered June 18 at Mary, Mother of God Church, Middletown. Burial followed at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.
