Jaclyn Kane, 44, of Miami Beach, Florida, passed away Aug. 23, 2023.
Jaclyn was born July 10, 1979, at Riverview Hospital in Red Bank. Jaclyn attended St. James School and Middletown High School South. As a child, she loved to dance and participated in many competitions. Her favorite place was at the beach with a book in hand.
After attending Brookdale Community College, Jaclyn became an insurance broker. Jaclyn was working for Aon Insurance in the World Trade Center during the attacks on 9/11. After the attacks, Jaclyn developed breast cancer from being exposed to the toxins at the World Trade Center that day.
Jaclyn participated in Project Koru, a cancer survivors’ group. This group most recently traveled to Maui, Hawaii, in 2022 to do charity work and make lifelong friends. She also learned to surf there. Jaclyn loved traveling and seeing new places.
Jaclyn was a Jersey girl, having most recently moved to Florida two years ago. During her time in Florida, Jaclyn studied and became a board certified master health coach/trauma informed coach. She was also in the process of opening her own business where she could share her knowledge and help others achieve their goals. In October, Jaclyn was to participate and speak at the Transformation Triumphs Retreat.
While living in Florida in 2003, Jaclyn became aware of the Sato Project and adopted Booboo. After he passed, Jaclyn again reached out to the Sato Project in 2021 and rescued her companion, Cooper, a two-year-old chihuahua-dachshund mix. After Jaclyn’s death, the Sato Project was kind enough to fly Cooper to New Jersey to live with his Nana, Linda.
Jaclyn was predeceased by her father Anthony M. Kaczynski; and her maternal grandparents, Helen and Edward Orzel.
Surviving Jaclyn are her devoted mother and best friend Linda Orzel; her sister Kimberly Callas; an uncle Kenneth Orzel; a nephew Evan Callas; cousins Yves Orzel, Errin Orzel, Bernice and John Beckman, John Beckman III, Ryan Beckman, and Heather Schleeweis; and her beloved dog Cooper.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1 at John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Ave., Red Bank. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2 at St. James Church, Red Bank. Cremation will be private.
