Angela “Angie” Figaro passed away Aug. 24, 2024, in Red Bank at the age of 89, with her loving nieces and nephew at her bedside.

Angela, a lifelong communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church, was born in Long Branch and raised in Red Bank where she attended River Street School. She graduated from Red Bank High School with the Class of 1952.

Upon graduation, Angie was employed as an assistant analyst at Electronic Associates, Incorporated in West Long Branch, where she worked for 43 years. During her tenure at EAI, Angela took advantage of the company’s bus trips to bring her nephew and nieces to visit Amish Country, see Broadway shows, the Circus and The Ice Capades, take cruises up the Hudson, to Atlantic City and so much more. Angela prioritized offering her nieces and nephew exposure to as many new experiences as she could.

After her retirement from EAI, Angie took a “relaxing part-time” job at Professional Pharmacy in Red Bank. The position evolved into the full-time adventure of retail buyer and department manager of the adjoining gift shop. The owner affectionately named the shop “Angie’s Hallmark” in her honor.

Angela loved collecting dolls, baking, traveling and capturing time with her friends and family with photographs. Mostly, Angela loved time with her precious family and dear friends as evident in her home which is covered with photographs and albums of amazing memories of her best friends, Marie and Nick Tarricone, their daughters, Jean-Marie and Denise, her loving mother Josie, her brother, his wife and children and their granddaughters, all of whom she spoiled. Angela never forgot a special occasion and just about all of them she captured with photographs.

Angela will be remembered for her beautiful smile, unconditional love, kindness, thoughtfulness, generosity, hard work and attention to detail. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Angela is survived by her nephew John C. Figaro, nieces Dominique Ravaschiere and Nicolle Figaro, great-nieces Christina Rogers and Shannon Ravaschiere and her sister-in-law Martha Figaro. Angela is also survived by her aunt Angie Guarino of Toms River, and a seemingly endless list of loving Renzella and Figaro cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dominic Figaro and Josephine O’Brien, stepfather George O’Brien, stepsister Joanne McNally and, of course, her beloved brother John R. Figaro.

Visitation was held Aug. 28 at the John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. A Mass of Christan Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Aug. 29 at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 124 Chestnut St., Red Bank. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.

In lieu of flowers, please consider giving in Angela’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org.
