Daniel A. Bennett Sr., 82, of Port Monmouth, passed away Dec. 31, 2024, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. He was born in Red Bank in 1942.

Daniel spent his childhood in Keansburg and raised his family in Port Monmouth. He was employed as a chemical operator with International Flavors and Fragrances (IFF) for 24 years.

Daniel found peace and tranquility in the outdoors and spent many summers visiting National Parks from coast to coast, including in Alaska and Canada. He was also a tropical fish enthusiast and breeder, an incredible dancer and had a natural artistic ability. Daniel loved to draw mountain landscapes and animals.

He was an avid Penn State fan and attended many games at Beaver Stadium. Daniel’s five grandchildren were the apple of his eye; his home was filled with pictures of his grandchildren and his lifetime of outdoor adventures. 

Surviving are his beloved wife of 62 years, Linda (Youncofski); sons, Daniel (Valerie) and William (Shannon); grandchildren, Christopher, Lauren, Blake, Chase and Trent; and sisters, Joan (Thomas) Davis and Barbara Colton.  

Daniel was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Donna Lynn; his parents, Daniel and Marguerite (Creevy) Bennett; his in-laws, Victor and Anna Youncofski; and his brothers, Richard and Alton Bennett.

Visitation was held Jan. 13 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral liturgy was offered Jan. 14 at St. Mary’s Church, Middletown. Entombment followed at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Keyport.
