Nancy Ruth Kochanski, age 85, of Middletown, died peacefully at home July 11, 2025. Nancy grew up in Middletown, where she lived her whole life and raised her family. She worked as a server at What’s Your Beef restaurant in Rumson for many decades.
Since retiring 10 years ago, she loved most of all spending time with her family and friends.
Nancy was predeceased by her parents, James and Margaret (Ayers) Weeks; husband Greg Kochanski; two sons, James and Thomas Zilly; sister Emily Worden and her husband Edward (Jenkins); and two brothers, Fredrick Weeks and Robert Weeks and his wife Catherine (Dow).
Nancy is survived by her children, Michael and Patricia Zilly of Tinton Falls, Darlene and Brian Lang of Middletown, Sharon Acciavatti and Jeremy Rau of Union Beach and daughter-in-law Diane Grillon and her husband Barry of Toms River; grandchildren, Thomas and Kristin Gorski of Middletown, Melissa and Harry Murtha of Atlantic Highlands, Michael and Hilary Zilly of Tinton Falls, Nicholas and Emily Gorski of Matawan, Megan and Zack Ross of Sewell, David and Karly Zilly of Eatontown, Ryan and Lauren Zilly of Florida, Kaitlyn and Otto Kerler of Eatontown, Hayley Acciavatti and James Courtney of Highlands and Joseph Acciavatti of Highlands. She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation with a eulogy and short prayer was July 16 at Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank. Interment will be private.
