Thomas Allmond Kennedy

1026

Thomas Allmond Kennedy of Little Silver, formerly of Wilmington, Delaware; Brooklyn, New York; and Rhosllanerchrugog, Wales, passed away Aug. 23, 2025, at home.

Thomas was born in Brooklyn, where he resided with his parents, Samuel and Sarah Kennedy. A few years after Thomas’ father passed away in 1945, Thomas and his mother moved to Wales, where he spent several years enveloped in a warm and loving extended family. He held Wales close to his heart for his entire life.

Thomas, also known to his grandchildren as “Taid,” lived in Little Silver for the past 22 years, having moved there from Wilmington to be closer to his family. He was a kind, fun-loving man who liked nothing better than sharing his stories and an occasional song with all. Thomas was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend.

He was fortunate to have many caring doctors and nurses who helped him over the years. His helper, “Z,” was a constant and compassionate caregiver over the last few years.
Thomas was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Irene Mary. He is survived by his daughter Megan and her husband Brian Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Grace and her husband Michael Krupnik, Clare Fitzgerald, and Emma and her husband Reid Rosello; great-grandson Liam Krupnik; sister-in-law Eleanor; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held Aug. 29 at Embury United Methodist Church, Little Silver.

Thompson Memorial Home of Red Bank has been entrusted with the arrangements.
