Lorraine “Lori” Slavin, 86, passed away peacefully at home Feb. 28, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born March 4, 1939, Lori spent her childhood in the Pelham Bay neighborhood of the Bronx, New York. She later made her home in New Jersey, where she lived most of her life in Middletown and Rumson.

Lori attended Villa Maria Academy in Pelham Bay on a merit scholarship and later studied at Assisium Business School in New York City. She worked for more than 13 years at an international marketing company in Red Bank and then dedicated over 32 years to an indoor pollution abatement company in Woodbridge.

In retirement, Lori devoted herself fully to her family, blessing them with boundless love and countless sacrifices. She was especially devoted to caring for her mother and her husband during their prolonged illnesses, giving herself selflessly and with unwavering strength.

Lori spent her leisure time “digging in the dirt,” lovingly tending to her beautiful flower and vegetable gardens. They were her oasis – a place of peace and contentment.

She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Rose and Louis Rimali; her first husband, Walter Lynch; and her second husband, Robert Slavin.

She is survived by her two children, Laura Gambacorto and her husband Alan, and Daniel Lynch; her four grandchildren, Heather Young and her husband Mathew, Chris Gambacorto and his wife Samantha, Jack Lynch, and Vaughn Lynch; her two great-grandchildren, Tyler and James Young; and her loving sister, Adele Noonan, who cared for her so devotedly until the very end.

She will be deeply missed and forever in her family’s hearts.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held March 4 at Holy Cross Church, Rumson. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation at t2t.org.

Thompson Memorial Home of Red Bank has been entrusted with the arrangements.
