RED BANK – The newly upgraded running track at Count Basie Field was celebrated Tuesday, Aug. 6 by representatives of Red Bank borough leaders, the Recreation Dept. and Red Bank Catholic High School. The former track was in use for more than 15 years and was finally updated in a cooperative effort between the borough and RBC. The track is used by students from St. James Elementary School, Red Bank Catholic High School and Red Bank Public Schools, as well as the community. To mark the occasion, a special single lap race was held between members of the Red Bank track team and council member Kate Triggiano. Red Bank track team member Malachi McKelvin, 12, placed first in the race.
