Mr. and Mrs. Jan L. Wouters of Rumson are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Alexandra Cates Wouters, to Lieutenant Colonel (USAF) Colby J. Kuhns, son of Mr. and Mrs. Williams Kuhns, Albion, N.Y.
The bride-to-be graduated from Rumson-Fair Haven Regional H.S., attended the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, and graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelors of Arts degree in art history. After graduation, she was a White House intern in the Office of the President for Political Affairs and worked for a lobbying firm. She is currently a Practice Assistant in the Public Sector Practice, McKinsey & Company, Washington, D.C.
The prospective groom is a graduate of Albion High School, Albion, N.Y. and the U.S. Air Force Academy with a B.S. in humanities. He holds an M.S. in Aeronautical Science from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and a Master of Military Art and Science Degree from the Air Command Staff College. He is a senior pilot with over 3,500 flying hours in multiple airframes. He is currently a U-2 pilot and the Director of Operations for the 5th Reconnaissance Squadron at Osan AB, Korea.
The couple met at a White House Christmas party in 2008 and is planning an October wedding in Washington, D.C.
