Anthony J. Barbera, 61, of Red Bank, passed away peacefully at his home June 4, 2026.

Anthony was born Feb. 16, 1965, in Brooklyn, New York, and grew up on Staten Island, where he began shaping the entrepreneurial spirit and unmistakable style that would define his life.

In 1982, he relocated to Monmouth County, a move that marked the beginning of his lasting impact on the local community.

From 1987 to 1993, Anthony owned and operated Richmond Interiors on Staten Island. After settling in New Jersey, he went on to open the iconic women’s boutique Coco Pari in Red Bank and Deal, establishments that became synonymous with luxury, fashion and community connection.

In 2012, Anthony partnered to bring the luxury lifestyle publication Industry Magazine to New Jersey, further cementing his influence on the region’s creative, luxury and business landscape.

Anthony Barbera was instrumental in helping shape Red Bank into a premier luxury destination during Coco Pari’s existence. His passion for business was matched by his commitment to giving back. Over the years, he was deeply involved in supporting The Tigger Stavola Foundation, a foundation personally near and dear to Anthony; he was honored at their 2017 gala.

He was also a proud supporter of Children’s Specialized Hospital – Children’s Miracle Network, coordinating events and contributing greatly to the organization throughout the years.

Anthony’s love for Red Bank extended beyond his businesses. He could often be found on “his bench” on Broad Street, enjoying a cigar and cocktail, surrounded by friends and greeting familiar faces and passersby alike. His presence was a fixture of the town he loved so deeply.

Anthony is survived by his mother, Joanne Barbera; his life partner, Andrea Agin; his sister and brother-in-law, Carla Barbera Esposito and Michael Esposito; his niece, Nicole Battaglia, and her husband, Chris Battaglia; his nephew, Anthony Esposito; and a great-niece Gianna Battaglia.

Visitation for family and friends was held June 8 at Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home, Middletown. Family and friends gathered June 9 for a funeral service at the funeral home. Entombment followed at Marlboro Memorial Cemetery and Mausoleum in Marlboro.

Anthony will be remembered for his vision, generosity, style, wit and the indelible mark he left on his community and all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, kindly make donations in Anthony’s memory to the Tigger Stavola Foundation at tiggerstavolafoundation.org.

Arrangements are under the respectful care and direction of funeral director Christine A. Cuocco and Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home.
