Area High Schools Hold Commencement Exercises

LINCROFT – Christian Brothers Academy graduated 233 students on May 24 at Brookdale Community College. The valedictorian was Michael Baynell. The salutatorian was Christian Korwer. Officiates of the ceremony included: Brother Frank Byrne, president; Brother James Butler, principal; Ross Fales, vice principal; and Peter Santanello, associate principal.
HIGHLANDS – Henry Hudson Regional High School graduated 67 students on June 14 at the Genevieve M. Hawley Cafetorium. The valedictorian was Andrew Bell. The salutatorian was Maureen MacBurmic. Both addressed the graduating class during the ceremony.
MIDDLETOWN – Mater Dei Prep graduated 83 students June 7 at the Mary, Mother of God Church. The valedictorian was Matthew Paul Melleby and the salutatorian was Danielle Marie Tarantino. Senior Shaun Timothy Nerney offered a speech telling students to live life to its fullest. The Rev. Douglas A. Freer, vicar for Catholic education, Msgr. Michael J. Walsh, pastor, St. Mary Parish and staff members of Mater Dei were celebrants at ceremony.

Middletown High School North Principal Patricia Vari-Cartier addresses the graduating class of 2012 June 14 at Monmouth University. Three hundred and eighty students graduated.

MIDDLETOWN – Middletown High School North graduated 373 students June 14 at Monmouth University. The valedictorian was Monika Juzwiak, who will attend Rutgers University in the fall. The salutatorian was James Tomasullo. Both valedictorian and salutatorian delivered speeches along with Middletown High School North Principal Patricia Vari-Cartier and William O. George, superintendent of schools.
Middletown High School South seniors gather at Monmouth University to celebrate their June 14 commencement ceremony. Three hundred and seventy three students graduated.

MIDDLETOWN – Middletown High School South graduated 380 students June 14 at Monmouth University. The valedictorian was William Mavordee and salutatorian was Brian George. Both Mavordee and George delivered speeches along with Middletown South Principal Pat Rinellal and William O. George, superintendent of schools.
RED BANK – Red Bank Catholic High School celebrated the graduation of 247 students on June 7 at Monmouth University. The valedictorian was Angelica Cangemi, who will attend Cornell University, She delivered a speech reflecting on her time at RBC. The 2012 salutatorian was Kristen Gelenitis. She will attend Bucknell University in the fall. The graduation Baccalaureate Mass was celebrated by Bishop David M. O’Connell along with Msgr. Philip Lowery, pastor, St. James Parish, Red Bank, the Rev. Christopher Piccolo, the Rev. Ariel Robles and the Rev. Daison Areepparampil.

LITTLE SILVER – Red Bank Regional High School graduated 251 students June 15 at the RBR athletic field. Versatile Ari Beller of Little Silver, an international baccalaureate student, was the valedictorian. He will be attending Brown University in the fall. Class members garnered more than $4.5 million in scholarships and gained entrance into approximately 200 colleges from all over the United States.
RUMSON – Rumson–Fair Haven Regional High School graduated 241graduates June 15 at Borden Stadium. The valedictorian was Elizabeth Ginalis. There was no salutatorian. Speakers were Ginalis, senior class advisor Chrissy Camp and Superintendent Peter J Righi.
HOLMDEL – St. John Vianney High School graduated 254 students May 31 at the Collins Arena at Brookdale Community College. The valedictorian was Andrea Malleo. The salutatorian was Michelle Wadolowski. Shaun Golden, Monmouth County sheriff and SJV alumnae, gave the commencement speech.
