RUMSON – The Rumson Country Day School welcomed over 600 parents, students and teachers to the first ever RCDS Arts Festival on April 28. The concept was inspired by head of school Whitney Slade, and expands on RCDS’ traditional annual spring concert.
Students from Nursery to Grade 8 displayed their artwork throughout the building, including watercolors, ceramics, mosaics, pencil drawings and origami. On the performing arts side, students’ solo performances, duets, instrumental and chorale groups, as well as public speaking and forensics were highlighted in separate presentations held in the auditorium and Riker Hall.
“We were thrilled to have such a great turnout for this first-ever Arts Festival at RCDS,” said Slade. “We are really proud of the talent our students possess and we think this is a great way to showcase it.”
